Naples, FL – [May 13, 2026] – FC Naples battled until the final whistle Sunday evening but fell 2-1 to Spokane Velocity FC at ONE Spokane Stadium in a tightly contested USL League One matchup.
Despite controlling possession for much of the match, FC Naples was unable to overcome an early Spokane breakthrough and a second-half go-ahead goal as the hosts remained undefeated at home this season.
Spokane struck first in the 8th minute when #17 Medgy Alexandre found the back of the net to give Velocity FC an early 1-0 advantage. Naples responded with composed possession and attacking pressure, ultimately finishing the match with 55.8 percent possession, 457 passes at 86.0 percent accuracy, and 18 total shots.
FC Naples continued to push forward after halftime, totaling 127 passes in the final third and eight corner kicks. Spokane extended its lead in the 54th minute when #16 Anuar Pelaez converted to make it 2-0.
Naples refused to back down and found a breakthrough deep into stoppage time when defender #5 Luca Mastrantonio scored in the 95th minute to cut the deficit to 2-1. The late goal gave Naples one final surge of momentum, but Spokane held on through the closing moments to secure the result.
The match marked another competitive showing for FC Naples during its second professional season, as the club remains among the top teams in the USL League One standings.
