Naples, Florida – May 8, 2026 – FC Naples announced today that defender #4 Max Glasser has retired from professional soccer as he looks toward his next chapter. The 25-year-old from California was a dependable presence along the back line across two seasons, making 35 appearances in 2025 and recording three assists — providing the defensive stability that helped FC Naples build something no expansion club in USL League One had ever accomplished before.
His most memorable moment in an FC Naples kit came in 2026, when he scored his first professional goal in the 87th minute against Portland Hearts of Pine — an equalizer that preserved a hard-fought point for FC Naples. He started six of his seven appearances this season, carrying the same commitment that defined his time with the club from day one.
“Max has been instrumental to our success on the field and played a key role in laying the foundation of this club as a member of our inaugural season,” said Head Coach Matt “Gaffa” Poland. “While we’re sad to see him step away, we’re excited for what’s ahead and wish him nothing but the best. He will always be a part of FC Naples.”
