Naples, FL – [June 1, 2026] – FC Naples carried a first-half lead into the break but ultimately fell 2-1 to league-leading Union Omaha on Saturday night at Morrison Stadium in USL League One action.
FC Naples struck first in the 23rd minute when #19 William Arevalo capitalized on an attacking opportunity and finished clinically to give Naples a 1-0 advantage. The goal continued a strong run of form for Arevalo, who recorded three shots on target and scored his second goal of the season.
The visitors entered halftime with the lead after a disciplined defensive effort and several key saves from goalkeeper Edward Delgado, who finished the evening with seven saves. Naples weathered sustained pressure from Omaha throughout the match while remaining dangerous in transition and creating opportunities of its own in the attacking third.
Union Omaha increased the pressure in the second half and found the equalizer in the 68th minute through #17 Diego Gutiérrez. The home side completed its comeback seven minutes later when #27 Ryen Jiba finished a chance created by Gutiérrez to put Omaha ahead 2-1 in the 75th minute.
Despite the result, FC Naples delivered a strong performance against one of USL League One’s top clubs and remained competitive throughout the evening.
Several Naples players turned in notable performances throughout the evening. Midfielder #10 Andrés Ferrín paced the attack with five shots, while #21 Marc Torrellas played a key role in the buildup, leading the team with three chances created and 47 completed passes.
At the back, #5 Luca Mastrantonio continued his strong form with seven recoveries and 37 completed passes, while #1 Delgado’s seven-save performance helped keep Naples within striking distance until the final whistle.
