NAPLES, Fla. — Trials. Adversity. Playing from behind. At this point in the season, FC Naples is no stranger to any of it.
After enduring the club’s first four-game losing streak in franchise history, FC Naples entered the Prinx Tires USL Cup looking for more than just a win. The tournament, designed to create cross-league competition and national exposure, immediately challenged Naples with a Championship League opponent a division above them, Sporting Club Jacksonville.
“Anytime you get to showcase your abilities against a higher-level team, it brings more highs, and it allows players to show they belong at the next level,” head coach Matt Poland said.
The match became another test of resilience for a club continuing to navigate injuries and roster changes throughout the season.
