Naples, FL – [April 20, 2026] – FC Naples showed resilience on the road Sunday afternoon, battling back to secure a 1–1 draw against Portland Hearts of Pine at Fitzpatrick Stadium despite the chilly rain and a 45-minute delay of game. The competitive USL League One matchup tested the squad’s focus and composure from the opening whistle.
Playing in front of an energized home crowd, Portland struck first in the 36th minute when #10 Ollie Wright capitalized on an attacking opportunity to give the hosts a 1–0 advantage heading into halftime.
FC Naples responded with a composed and determined second-half performance, gradually shifting momentum in its favor. Naples controlled possession for much of the match and continued to apply pressure in the attacking third, searching for a breakthrough against a disciplined Portland defense.
That breakthrough came in the 87th minute, when defender #4 Max Glasser delivered a defining moment. Finishing a chance created by # 14 Kevin O’Connor, Glasser found the back of the net to level the match at 1–1, marking the first professional goal of his career and securing a hard-earned point for Naples.
Defensively, FC Naples remained organized throughout the contest, with goalkeeper #1 Edward “Lalo” Delgado making key saves to keep the team within reach during critical moments. The back line, anchored by #4 Max Glasser and #5 Luca Mastrantonio, absorbed pressure and helped limit Portland’s chances as the match progressed.
The result highlights FC Naples’ ability to compete in challenging road environments and respond under pressure, continuing to demonstrate the team’s cohesion and fighting spirit early in the 2026 season.
