Naples, FL – December 20, 2024 – FC Naples is proud to announce the signing of Edward “Lalo” Delgado, a 26-year-old Mexican American goalkeeper with an impressive professional career in USL Championship and USL League One. Delgado’s arrival solidifies FC Naples’ defense as the club enters its inaugural 2025 season.

From Coast to Coast
Delgado started his soccer journey at Westmont College, where he played from 2016 to 2019, while also gaining experience with USL League 2 side Ventura County Fusion during the summer seasons.
In 2020, Delgado took the next step in his career, signing with Las Vegas Lights in the USL Championship. He made his professional debut on March 7, 2020, in a 1–1 draw against San Diego Loyal SC. Over the next three years, Delgado showcased his goalkeeping skills, earning the respect of teammates and opponents during his time with Las Vegas Lights and Phoenix Rising.
In 2023, Edward “Lalo” Delgado joined Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC in USL League One and quickly emerged as one of the league’s top goalkeepers. Across two standout seasons, Delgado was a Goalkeeper of the Year finalist in both 2023 and 2024 and earned a place on the 2024 All-League Second Team. He set a USL League One clean sheet record in 2023 with 13 shutouts and led the league again in 2024 with 9 clean sheets. Delgado played a pivotal role in Northern Colorado’s 2024 USL Jägermeister Cup Championship victory, securing the title with a decisive penalty save during the final shootout.
Delgado brings exceptional defensive experience to FC Naples. He is set to join the team for pre-season training in January 2025.
