Southwest Florida’s professional soccer team, FC Naples, is ready to tackle a franchise first, a match against a Major League Soccer opponent.
FC Naples will host Orlando City SC on April 14 or 15 in the third round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
FC Naples is in just its second season of existence after a record-breaking debut in 2025.
The team competes in the regular season as part of USL League One, which is the considered the third division of professional soccer leagues in the United States.
The U.S. Open Cup is a single-elimination tournament open to both professional teams across multiple leagues, in addition to amateur clubs.
