FC Naples showcased its resilience and attacking determination Saturday night, battling back on multiple occasions and scoring three goals on the road against Charlotte Independence. Despite twice erasing deficits and pushing until the final whistle, Naples ultimately fell 4-3 in a hard-fought USL League One match at American Legion Memorial Stadium.
Charlotte struck first in the sixth minute when Luis Álvarez found the back of the net, but FC Naples responded in the 21st minute. Kevin O’Connor delivered a dangerous ball into the attacking third that found William Arevalo, who finished confidently to level the match at 1-1.The goal marked Arevalo’s fourth goal in his last four appearances and sent the teams into halftime deadlocked.
